Growing the TYPO3 Community in North America

Patrick Gaumond started using TYPO3 in 2003. His first TYPO3 project was the migration of a 400 page website into TYPO3. A year later, the website had 2400 pages and TYPO3 already starts spreading and get momentum by all those attending his demonstrations. Seven years later, TYPO3 is in use in more than 50 government organizations and many companies are doing consultancy around TYPO3 in the Province of Québec.
Abstract:
For over 7 years, TYPO3 adoption in the province of Québec has been exponential. How did that happen and why?
 
During the talk you will get deep insight on how a simple need was transformed into a huge, successful, de-facto solution for intranets and websites. We will see:
 
Which projects got thing started as soon as 2003;
* How to attract decision makers;
* What makes projects successful;
* Using the right words;
* Reaching credibility;
* Getting the word out.
 
The talk will consist of stories from the trenches, tips and tricks, and lessons learned.
